Keg River Chemical is a wholly owned subsidiary of Tiger Calcium Services, the largest producer of natural Calcium Chloride in Canada. Keg River produces and packages a wide range of advanced Sulfur-based fertilizers, fertilizer blends and Ice Melter products. Keg River delivers products to both wholesale and retail markets with the services of a proprietary fleet of trucks and railcars.

In 1983, the founders of Keg River imported "pastille" technology from Europe - a drop forming process that produces a uniform granular pastille in the shape of a split pea. Through a strong commitment to research and development, Keg River adapted and advanced the technology for the production of fertilizer and other chemicals. The result was revolutionary products that offered greatly improved handling characteristics and degradation properties.

These next-generation products, as well as renowned customer service and competitive pricing, all helped to develop a strong presence for Keg River in the Sulfur fertilizer market. Using superior raw materials including delicate mixtures of Bentonite clays and other ingredients, the pastille process produces excellent Sulfur fertilizers that are arguably the world's best. In addition, our cutting edge manufacturing facilities utilize sophisticated product-handling techniques to minimize dust content, and maximize quality. Our presence in the marketplace not only provides customers with an alternative supplier, but also encourages improvements in quality of products previously available to consumers.

As well as continuously striving to improve its Sulfur fertilizers, Keg River offers effective packaging and blending options for its customers that exceed even the most demanding requirements. Our 50 lb (22.7 kg) bags of Sulfur fertilizers are packaged in clear plastic bags, to make the quality of the finished product clearly visible. When shipping bulk totes, we offer several weight alternatives to allow for cost savings to the customer. Standard wood pallets are included with 50 lb bags, as well as plastic caps and stretch-wrap. Whether 50 lb bags, Mini-Bulk totes, or bulk shipments are requested, we can provide our customers with the exact packaging they require.

To round out our full range of services, Keg River provides distribution and transportation services for our customers to ensure timely delivery on all of our products. We have our own fleet of trucks and railcars, and we use other approved carriers to move our products directly to customers, or to re-distribution terminals throughout North America. Having 34 years of experience owning and operating a transportation division of 22 truck and trailer units and 78 railcars, we understand the importance of timely delivery and meeting all customer demands.

At Keg River, we are working hard to develop new and improved products, and better ways to service the fertilizer industry. But more importantly, we recognize the need for personalized service, and positive relationships with our customers and distributors.

Production and Operations Summary:

• Sulfur Production: Edmonton, Alberta, Canada is home to our Sulfur pastille manufacturing operations. Production capacity is 150 metric tonnes per day, which can be packaged, blended, stored, or shipped by truck or rail from our dedicated rail siding.
• Calcium Chloride Production: Tiger Calcium Services, parent company to Keg River Chemicals, owns a brine well in Slave Lake, Alberta. Liquid production includes two facilities that produce 800 liquid tonnes per day of 30% CaCl₂, and 460 liquid tonnes of
  35% CaCl₂.
• Distribution terminals (14) exist throughout North America.
  
  

Recent Developments:

• Doubled Sulfur plant capacity to ensure timely supply of product.
• Increased loading capacity for blended Sulfur products.
• Purchased trucks and trailers to provide prompt delivery of Sulfur products.
• Increased storage/warehouse capacity.
• Developed new Sulfur products, including soluble micronutrient Sulfur products, and extremely degradable plant nutrient Sulfur.
  
• Overhauled and automated entire packaging facility; tripled storage capacity for bulk raw materials.
